John-Mark has spent much of his life in West Africa. As a teenager he became deeply interested in the culture and music of the Manding people. Studying with local "jeli" musicians he learned Manding guitar styles as well as the 22 stringed kora. John-Mark loves to bridge cultures through the language of music.
