Austin-based songwriter Karen Chisholm describes her music as friendly with pop sensibilities. But her genre-blurring tunes range from addictive pop to dark, sensual blues, rhythmic rock, soaring ballads to a even a sweet little ditty here and there. In 2011 alone, she has written for several films — including an animated short — and two placements in an iPhone app. Her engaging vocals (think bits of Sheryl Crow, Dido, Feist and Aimee Mann), haunting melodies, cinematic sound and imagery and direct lyrics have a way of permeating listeners’ hearts and minds, winning her new fans on a daily basis.

Though she has written songs all her life, Chisholm has pursued music as a career only since 2008. Since then she has already released three music videos, an album, two singles, and in April 2012 she released an EP with her best work yet called Perfect World.
