About
Piano & guitar-playing Memphis sweetheart Lauren Strange made her first splash in the music scene at 9 years of age when she wrote, recorded, and entered her first song in a school songwriting contest, where she won first place. Lauren also won first place in the American Songwriter Lyric Contest, and her lyrics appear in the March/April 2010 issue of the magazine. She was named a Regional Round Finalist in the Mountain Stage NewSong Songwriting Competition. She also finished Fourth in the Intel Superstars Competition Country category and contributed a song to a compilation CD to benefit LeBonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis, TN. In September she was named the Grand Prize Winner in the John Lennon International Songwriting Contest for the Country category for her song “Jump," and won the Lennon Award for her category.
