SOCORRA is a singer/songwriter from San Jose, California. Her father and mother introduced her to a wide variety of music at a young age and she began playing the drums at 10 years old and picked up the guitar at 14. Being inspired by everyone from Elvis Presley, and Motown to Creedence Clearwater Revival and Sara Bareilles, she continued to explore and create music through college where she frequented the stage in talent shows and charity events.
An adventurer at heart, Socorra spent two years in Peace Corps Morocco where she was inspired to write and record her first EP entitled “Little by Little.” In Morocco, this saying encourages perseverance and dedication. These two words describe Socorra’s work and passion for her music. Her songs are an almost subconscious commentary of her environment. Her music impacts the listener in a playful, but motivational way.
Socorra is currently working on her second EP to be released soon. When Socorra is not on stage inspiring large crowds she teaches music to young people and performs at a variety of events. Socorra keeps the rhythm and lyrics flowing throughout her daily life. She only wishes to share these creations with you. Enjoy!
