Unknown Souldier
About
Between its cast of absolutely electric entertainers, incredibly proficient players, an enriching lyrical dichotomy, plus an overall commitment to creative excellence on all fronts, Unknown Souldier is amongst the current rock crop’s most exhilarating and inspiring. Sure, the Big Apple-based group can boast collective credits as diverse as previous deals with RCA Records / BMG to tour positions with Gavin DeGraw, Avril Lavigne, and Matt White, but there’s also an underlying seeker-friendly sensitivity that also makes these guys just as uplifting as they are musically gifted.
“We want people to come to us when they need a break from all that life throws their way, but also give them an opportunity to walk down a better path,” notes lead vocalist Brother Terry, a nickname that aptly summarizes his instantly inviting demeanor. “Our music is meant to be real, honest music that relates to what people are going through and meeting them where they’re at”. That particular message seems to be striking a chord in a lot of the hearts & souls of those who have heard them.
Thus far, that audience has included everyone jammed into clubs and theatres in America and Europe; but no matter what the environment, the unflinchingly honest message from the group’s music is always the same, and that is to empower anyone & everyone - regardless of their background. “Live shows are basically a mixture of original songs and cover songs that fall in line with the story we want to tell,” the front man echoes.
Unknown Souldier's music is replete with personal tales and eternal truths, but never at the expense of softening the group’s unbridled rock n’ roll energy. Falling somewhere between the recent stylings of The Foo Fighters and ZZ Top, crossed with the classic guitar charges of Led Zeppelin and the bluesy undercurrents of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Unknown Souldier is certainly amongst one of today’s most compelling amalgamations.
“My focus is simple", continues Brother Terry- “People say that misery loves company... I believe that misery loves comfort even more.”
But beyond merely cranking the amplifiers up and packing out a concert hall with fist pumping fury, Unknown Souldier’s primary goal at the end of the day is to be a beacon of hope to the seeking. "As long as your heart’s still beating, you’re not done yet- there is always hope around the corner.”
