From Elijah Newman & The SideEffects
Elijah Newman is a singer/songwriter from Knoxville, TN. At age 23, he has been writing and performing for more than seven years. Elijah's passion for performing began as a worship leader in a mega-church when he was just 14-years-old. He founded the band LoveWar in 2010 and served as lead singer and lead guitarist. He wrote or co-wrote all of the band's material. LoveWar released the album "Singing Summer" in 2011. Elijah's writing on that album was influenced by hardcore tinged with alternative rock. In 2013, Elijah launched a solo effort, inspired in his writing by such diverse artists as Jason Isbell and John Mark McMillan. He released his first solo, alternative rock album "Against the Tide" in 2014. In addition to writing and performing at venues in East Tennessee and Nashville, Tennessee, Elijah studied songwriting at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee.
Now teamed with his long-time friend and musical cohort, Chris Potocik, the two put together a band dubbed "The SideEffects." The new self titled release, nearly worlds away from Newman's earlier solo album, is energetic, lively, and brutally honest. The new EP is available exclusively on NoiseTrade starting May 26th.
The album releases worldwide in stores and digital retailers on June 3rd.
