One of our favorite parts about playing music is meeting people that love our music and hearing some of their stories. Each and every person on this planet has a unique story, a unique ambition, a unique past, a unique future. We all have in our minds the memories that caused us the most heartache, happiness, disgust, love... And the list goes on.
It is our constant goal to always make music based out of real life. That's where we draw inspiration. Every facet of life that makes us feel something - there's a story there. And we want to tell those stories as best as we can - at least, in the ways we've experienced them. Not to sound too cheesy, but thanks for joining our story and for letting us join yours.
While all members of Wayward have unique stories about life before the band, Jonathan and Erik met in November of 2016. In preparation for upcoming tour dates in 2016 and early 2017, the duo began working relentlessly on crafting a sound as thoughtful as it is catchy. In March 2017, the pair released their self-titled debut EP Wayward, touring up to 15 show dates per month. Searching for someone to add in yet another element, James entered in May 2017. Now developing a polished and full-band sound, the trio is set to complete multiple tours throughout the Midwest, with further-reaching locations planned for 2018 and beyond.
In addition to over 100 shows in 2017, Wayward is working in studio on its next project, estimated to be released in early 2018.
We are each very excited to present to you the music we make, and we appreciate you, listening to the stories in our songs. We hope they mean as much to you as they do to us.
Love you all.
